Please be aware that all e-reader devices do not display the text similarly. The ebooks are designed and formatted to work well on a variety of applications/devices, but not all apps or devices are equal. Some allow the user to control appearance and layout of the book while some do not even show italics!

For best reading pleasure, please choose your reading app and device carefully. Our goal is to publish our books in the three most popular formats:

  • mobi (kindle devices)

  • epub iBooks (iPAD), Nook (Barnes & Noble), Adobe Digital Editions, android devices

  • PDF (many devices with the proper app).

Individual titles may not be available in all formats. In addition, Hebrew & Greek fonts and footnotes are often not displayed well by e-reader devices. Therefore, the fonts have been transliterated into English and the footnotes inserted into the text in a smaller font that is preceded by (“FN”), which can be read or skipped over. Also, there are no page numbers in the Table of Contents and Indices because the text is “re-flowable” (e.g., the pages change in an ebook as the font is enlarged or made smaller or is ‘reflowed’ to a smaller space). Please forgive any errors in the enormous job to (re)-format these very important books as ebooks for many devices.

E. A. Johnston

Asahel Nettleton: Revival Preacher -Hardcover Book

“All Christians who long for revival and relish the study of it should feel greatly indebted to Dr. Johnston for his painstaking labor of love in amassing the most thorough biography ever written on Asahel Nettleton, whose ministry God greatly owned during the Second Great Awakening ... Oh, that the Spirit of God would stir us up in prayer for revival and would again thrust forth into the white, ready harvest men of such preachers who burn with passion for the salvation of the hellbound!” (Joel R. Beeke, President of Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, Grand Rapids, Michigan)

God's "Hitchhike" Evangelist: The Biography of Rolfe Barnard

A biographical account of Evangelist Rolfe Barnard's life mainly drawn from his sermons and containing what Dr. Johnston has called Ten Classic Sermons. It will cause you to worship the Triune God for His omnipotent power in saving sinners and rejoice in His eternal love, sovereign grace, and infinite mercy. This book will remind every God-called preacher that the God we serve is thrice holy, and both preacher and hearer will be called to stand before Him who is a “jealous God” and know that “it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” This book will cause you to pray the "Lord of the harvest" to raise up in our beloved Republic, from coast to coast and border to border, a band of fearless, Spirit-filled preachers like Barnard. Such men will call our churches back to New Testament Christianity, where weeping over and boldly witnessing to sinners is seen again as one of the primary ways of glorifying God as a result of having Biblically worshipped the Triune God.

The foreword and preface were written by Dr. J.I. Packer and Richard Owen Roberts; God's "Hitchhike" Evangelist: The Biography of Rolfe Barnard with a new look at one of the nation's unique evangelists in the 20th Century that will prove to be captivating reading for those interested in revival; and Asahel Nettleton: Revival Preacher, a clothbound book of 519 pages, also commended by Dr. J.I. Packer who says: "The momentous ministry of the Edwardsean evangelist Asahel Nettleton, a key figure in the Second Great Awakening, has been effectively forgotten during the past century and a half of less-than-Reformed revivalism. Dr. Johnston's masterful and thorough biography is a long-overdue tribute to this outstanding servant of God, and is priority reading for all who care about evangelism today."
