Defined King James Bible New Testament
We have long awaited the appearance of such a King lames Bible that would easily inform the reader of meanings of words which, though excellent in 1611, have changed slightly through the years by the use of footnotes. There are two portions of Scripture that come to mind concerning the understanding of the Words of God. The first portion is in Nehemiah. Nehemiah 8:8 states: "So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading." This is what The Defined King James Bible has done. It will cause those who read the King James Bible to know "the sense" and "to understand the reading." They do not need to go to one of the modern versions which have inferior Hebrew and Greek texts, inferior translators, inferior translation technique, and inferior theology. A second portion of Scripture is found in Acts. Acts 8:30 states that Philip, when he met the Ethiopian Eunuch, “ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?" The Eunuch's reply in the next verse was: "How can I, except some man should guide me?" The footnotes in The Defined King James Bible will act as a "guide" so that you, too, might understand "what thou readest." You will notice that there has been no change whatsoever in the Authorized King James Bible. It has been kept as the standard which has united English speaking people throughout the world. There have been only clarifying footnotes based upon sound English dictionaries and, where needed, the original Hebrew and Greek languages. This Bible is not only a teaching tool, but also a devotional blessing. To help those who may not be as familiar with many details of the Bible, we have included a Synopsis of the Books of the Bible. I document the reasons for these serious doctrinal errors in twenty-seven pages of documentation concerning 133 of the 356 New Testament Bible verses that contain doctrinal errors found in the Westcott and Hort Greek New Testament. How I Began Defending The KJB & Its Underlying Hebrew, Aramaic, & Greek
I have made it one of my goals to search out, with God’s help and guidance, the truth about the genuine Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek Words that SHOULD underlie our Old and New Testament Bibles, and expose the FALSE words that now underlie 99% of the Bibles (with the exception of the 1611 King James Bible). This is a vitally important and eternal matter. God has greatly helped me in this goal, and I thank Him for it. Now, at 92 years of age, the Lord has continued to give me the strength to be faithful to the fight in the battle for the truth of His Words.

1st Corinthians: Preaching Verse by Verse
The Bodily Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ Is Doubted By Many Today. Though doubted by many so-called Pastors in many churches of the U.S.A. and around the world, it is clearly taught in 1 Corinthians 15 and elsewhere in the New Testament. The Angel Of The Lord Was A Witness. When the two Mary’s came to Christ’s tomb early on the first day of the week, the angel of the Lord told them “He is not here: for He is risen . . . come, see the place where the Lord lay” (Matthew 28:6). More Than “500 Brethren at once” Were Also Witnesses. (1 Corinthians 15:6). Many of those brethren were still alive when Paul wrote the book of 1 Corinthians. What greater witness is needed to establish Christ’s bodily resurrection? Eleven Apostles Were Witnesses. At the second Sunday evening service, the Lord Jesus Christ appeared before them in the upper room. Even Thomas was there on that occasion though absent the week before. The Apostle Paul Was A Witness. The Lord Jesus Christ appeared to Paul from Heaven when he was on his way to imprison Christians at Emmaus. Paul asked “Who art thou, Lord?” The Lord Jesus Christ replied, “I am Jesus Whom thou persecutest.” (Acts 9:5).

Galatians: Preaching Verse by Verse
The Galatian Problem: The Galatian Christians believed that, though they were saved by God's grace through faith in Christ, they must be sanctified by works through keeping the Law of Moses.
The Galatian Solution: Paul's solution to these Galatians was very simple. It was in two parts. (1) Since God had saved them by His grace through faith, they must be sanctified by grace through faith also and not by keeping the Mosaic Law. (2) The Judaizers who were teaching them this error were preaching "another gospel" and were therefore cursed by God. Paul repeated this condemnation two times for emphasis (Galatians 1:8-9)
The Galatian Application: We who are saved in the Age of Grace, like the Galatian believers, were saved by God's grace through faith in Christ. We are to be sanctified day by day also by God's grace through faith and dependence upon the power of the Holy Spirit. This means that we are not under any of the three parts of the Mosaic Law. Those who differ with this are preaching "another gospel" and are also under God's curse.

Salvation—Then Service
All Are Sinners. In this book of Ephesians, Paul made it very clear that every human being is a sinner. In fact, they are all “dead in trespasses and sins.” (Ephesians 2:1)
All Must Be Saved. Since all are sinners and “dead in trespasses and sins,” all must be saved. Paul differed with the liberals and apostates of our day who say that all are saved and will go to God’s heaven. God’s salvation cannot be accomplished by our “works.” It is only by God’s “grace” that people can be saved, “through faith” in the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).
All Saved Should Serve. Though none can be saved by their “good works,” once saved, all should serve the Lord by “good works” which God has “ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). Though we cannot serve God to be saved, once we are saved, we should serve the Lord with willing hearts and with “good works.”

Christ in You, the hope of glory
The Glory is Certain. In Colossians 1:27, Paul wrote about a “mystery.” Then he explained that the “mystery” among the Gentiles was “Christ IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY.” Though Paul was in a Roman prison, he was not without “HOPE.” He wrote about it. Paul was absolutely certain about this “HOPE.”
*The Glory is Shared. Since the Lord Jesus Christ had given “HOPE” to the Apostle Paul, he wanted to share that “HOPE” to the Colossian believers. Rather than being led to MOPE as, perhaps, other prisoners in ROME, Paul was filled with certain “HOPE.” because of his strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, His Saviour. He felt he must share this good news of “GLORY.”
*The Glory is Defined. While living in inglorious surroundings, Paul was thinking of “GLORY.” This was his “HOPE.” The only One Who was able to make that “HOPE OF GLORY” possible was the Lord Jesus Christ, “OUR HOPE” (1 Timothy 1:1). This “HOPE OF GLORY” is possessed by everyone who has been born-again by genuine faith in the Saviour. All the redeemed ones will receive this “GLORY” when they see their Saviour, and b “like Him” (1 John 3:2).
*The Glory shall be Received. Paul looked forward to the day when his body would be “fashioned like” Christ’s “Glorious body” at the “first resurrection” (Philippians 3:20-21; Revelation 20:5-6).
Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Re 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that

2 Corinthians, Preaching Verse by Verse
The Beginning. This book is the seventeenth in a series of verse-by-verse preaching from various New Testament books of the Bible. It is an attempt to bring to the minds of the readers two things: (1) the meaning of the words in the verses, and (2) some practical applications of those words to the lives of both genuine Christians and non-Christians. Paul is the apostle of Jesus Christ by God’s will. Before this, he imprisoned and agreed to the killing of Christians. The Lord Jesus Christ met him as he was going to Damascus to imprison Christians. On his way there, the Lord Jesus Christ saved him and called him to be an apostle. I believe Paul, not Mathias, was chosen by the Lord Jesus Christ to take the place of Judas Iscariot who betrayed the Saviour. Timothy was with Paul when he wrote 2 Corinthians and he was right there in the church of Corinth with all the genuine Christians in Achaia or northern Greece. This was Paul’s second letter to them. In his first letter, he excoriated them because one of the men had committed incest with his father’s wife. Paul is trying to encourage them in the things of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Titus, Preaching Verse by Verse
Paul’s Instructions To Pastor Titus
The Importance Of Apostle Paul Instructing Pastor Titus. Pastor Titus was on the lonely island of Crete. There were probably no other New Testament churches on that island at the time. Paul thought it was vital to tell this pastor many important things that he and other pastors should know and tell others about. Pastors today should also know these things.
Paul Told Pastor Titus 15 Standards That Biblical Pastors Must Meet. These 15 standards were not only necessary for pastors in Titus’s days to meet, but they must also be fulfilled in our days by those who wish to be pastors. Sad to say, there are hundreds and thousands of today’s pastors who do not meet all 15 of these standards. This is a serious compromise and disobedience to God’s Words!
Paul Told Pastor Titus To Tell Biblical Pastors To Hold Fast To 4 Things. It is not enough for Pastors to meet all 15 of these Biblical standards. They must also “hold fast” to four important things as they minister the Words of God to their congregations. It is just as important for Biblical pastors today to hold fast to these four things so as not to lead their congregations into false doctrines and practices. Pastors must be good examples for those to whom they minister.
Paul Told Four Groups Of People To Do Certain Things. There were 6 things for aged men; 12 things for aged women; 6 things for Pastor Titus; and 5 things that are taught by God’s grace. Many of these 29 specific things are completely absent in the lives of people today. Many in these groups--even some genuine Christians--don’t read God’s Words to know what God expects of them. That leaves them ignorant of God’s will.
This is one of the many verse by verse commentaries by Dr. D. A. Waite, Th.D., Ph.D., Pastor of Bible For Today Baptist Church, Collingswood, N.J.

James, Preaching Verse by Verse
Two Kinds Of Justification In The New Testament. One kind of justification is from the pen of the Apostle Paul (justification before God). The other kind is from the pen of the Book of James (justification before other people). Through the years, there has been much confusion and misunderstanding because of these differences.
Justification Before God By Genuine Faith In The Lord Jesus Christ. Paul’s letters are very clear that for people be justified in the sight of God, they must trust the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour by genuine heart-felt faith. By this action alone can they be declared righteous before God. They are not justified before God by any of their good works.
Justification Before Other People By Showing Them Good Works, The Fruits Of Salvation. James speaks of this justification before other people so that, by the good works of genuine Christians, those who are not Christians can see that there is something wholesom about the lives of these true Christians which is a visible testimony to other people. Many times readers have misinterpreted the Book of James, believing wrongly that it teaches people can be saved merely by doing good works. This is a very false interpretation of the Book of James.
James Illustrates The Importance of Matthew 5:16. The Lord Jesus Christ told His disciples: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” The purpose of Christians’ good works, after they have become genuine Christians, is for people to see these good works and glorify–not themselves, but--their “Father which is in Heaven.”

“Here is another work in a series by Dr. D. A. Waite on books of the Bible. This treatise on 2 Peter and Jude cuts through the misunderstanding of critical biblical doctrines, like all of his other books; and presents in easy to understand language, very important teachings such as: What causes a believer to be unfruitful, how to keep from falling, geocentricity, the origin of God’s Words, what these books say about preservation of God’s Words, heresies, sodomites, the destruction of death by Christ, and many other important and significant doctrinal issues. Dr. Waite’s books have sold by the thousands. Why not pick up a copy and see why?” H. D. Williams, President, The Old Paths Publications.

D. A. Waite, Th.D., Ph.D., Pastor of Bible For Today Baptist Church and an internationally known scholar, has authored another masterful work on the 1st and 2nd books of Thessalonians. By examining Scripture verse by verse, Dr. Waite has presented the first and second phases of the Lord Jesus Christ’s second coming. He presents who will be involved in the rapture, the first phase of the second coming. He admonishes that every born-again believer in Jesus should “abide in Him” in order to be not ashamed at His appearing, which will be sudden. “Be ready.” This would make a great gift for pastors, teachers, missionaries, and students of God’s Words.

1, 2, & 3 John, Preaching Verse-By-Verse
Here is another excellent verse by verse commentary and exegesis of 3 books of the Apostle John by Pastor D. A. Waite. The major theme of the 3 books is: “Love Not The World” from (1 John 2:15-17). This book is number 13 in a series, “Preaching Verse By Verse. Please contact us for a special price for the 14 books in this series here: TOP@theoldpathspublications.com. These three letters by the Apostle John were written in around 90 A.D. from the Island of Patmos where he was exiled by the Roman government because he was a stalwart Christian who loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of his heart. While on that island, John also wrote the Gospel of John and the book of Revelation. He did not let the imprisonment and persecution by Rome and other anti-Christian forces impede his living a victorious Christian life standing up for the Lord Jesus Christ and God’s Words.
The Meaning Of “The World.” God mentions the phrase, “all that is in the world.” In these three verses, there are three areas that make up “the world” as God defines it. (1) Area one: “the lust of the eyes.” (2) Area two: “the lust of the flesh.” (3) Area three: “the pride of life.” The command given in verse 15 for every genuine Christian is to stop loving “the world”–any part of it. Their love should be fixed upon God the Father and on His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Result Of Loving “The World.” The result of true Christians loving any one of the areas of the “world” is that “the love of the Father is not in them.” If this is the case–no matter how they try to deny it--their “love” for their Heavenly Father “is not in them.” absent from them. This is a very serious condition to be in!
The Destiny Of “The World.” The lusts and pride of this “world” are fleeting and temporary. They pass away. Only they who do the “will of God” will abide forever. That “will” is found in an accurate Bible like the King James Bible. The first part of God’s will is to truly trust the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour and receive everlasting life, then, follow God’s Words!

“This book, Hebrews, is another of Pastor D. A. Waite, Th.D., Ph.D.'s excellent books published about books of the Bible. He takes the reader through the entire book of Hebrews expounding the Words verse by verse in a clear and comprehensible way. He has authored many books on books of the Bible. In this book, Dr. Waite makes certain that we understand the superiority of the Lord Jesus Christ over angels, Moses, and the Old Testament sacrifices. Christ's voluntary sacrifice for our sins was acceptable to God the Father for those who genuinely believe on Him and receive Him as their Saviour (John 3:16).”

Preaching Verse By Verse
● The Preaching In The Book. Though others have studied Revelation in a variety of ways, this 1030-page volume takes a verse by verse treatment of the book, just like the other eight books of the New Testament that Dr. Waite has written. When doctrines or doctrinal words are brought up, they are studied and discussed.
● The Person Of The Book. The main Person throughout the entire book of Revelation is the Lord Jesus Christ. We see Him in a variety of actions and ministries. He came the first time "to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). In Revelation, He is seen as the righteous Judge of those who reject Him and the Deliverer of those who love Him.
● The Premillennial Interpretation of the Book. Though many have taken Revelation as depicting events merely of the past, Dr. Waite has taken the traditional premillennial interpretation of the book, including things that were past, things then present, and things yet future. There is a clear presentation of the pre-tribulation rapture of "the church which is His Body"(all the genuinely saved people). It will be followed by the seven years of the tribulation which will be followed by the 1,000 years of messianic rule on this earth out of Jerusalem by the Lord Jesus Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The importance of this book cannot be underestimated. There is no one book that exposes Westcott and Hort's false Greek Text and false Greek theory behind that text any more thoroughly and convincingly than The Revision Revised. Dean Burgon defends the traditional text of the New Testament. He shows clearly the defects in both manuscript "B" (Vaticanus) and manuscript "Aleph" (Sinaiticus). It is very important to see the arguments contained in this historic volume because virtually the same Greek text of Westcott and Hort (1881) FORMS THE BASIS OF ALMOST ALL OF THE MODERN VERSIONS AND PERVERSIONS.

The Traditional Text of the Holy Gospels, Vol. 1
There is a battle over the Bible that is raging in liberal, neo-evangelical, and even many fundamental churches, schools, colleges, universities, and seminaries. One of the most recurring falsehoods that is used by the enemies of the Greek Traditional Text or Received Text is the almost unbelievable falsehood that the Greek text was not in existence until 1516 A.D. with Erasmus. This volume thunders out an effective reply to the serious errors of this false position. It proves beyond any reasonable doubt that the Traditional Text was in the hands of the churches in a continuous time line from the original Apostolic times down to the present.

The Case for the King James Bible, A Summary of the Evidence and Argument
This book traces the significant history of the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts that lie behind the King James Bible. Dr. Waite clearly demonstrates the corruption of the original language manuscripts that lie behind the 'new' versions. It is designed to inform those who have never examined the evidence.

"We are living today when, after almost two thousand years since the New Testament was completed, many genuine born-again Christians seem to have no idea what Biblical Separation is all about. Because of this, this subject should be studied and explained clearly for everyone who wishes to read about it. The author noted every Bible verse in the Old and New Testament that dealt with this theme whether directly or by illustration. There are 1,896 verses in all. This important topic of Biblical Separation has been divided into six chapters: (1) Preliminary Considerations (2) Separation Regarding Things; (3) Separation Regarding Marriage; (4) Separation Regarding Unbelievers; (5) Separation Regarding Disorderly Believers; and (6) Summary And Conclusions. These chapters are followed by nine pages of Scripture passages and index of subjects. May the Lord use this book for His glory to wake up genuinely saved Christians to follow God’s standards regarding Biblical Separation."

There is still a very great need to understand Dean John William Burgon's WARNINGS concerning revision either of the Greek Textus Receptus or the King James Bible. There seems to be no end in sight for the many revisions that have been made, and are still being made both in the Greek New Testament and in the English King James Bible. Most modern publishers and writers have not read what Dean Burgon wrote concerning any revision of the Greek or English Bible. Dr. Waite's desire is for many to heed these warnings.

This book reveals the unorthodox beliefs of Westcott and Hort who are the men most responsible for the 'new' Greek text that underlies the 'new' bible versions. Their heterodoxy blinded their intellects, and prejudiced them adversely and unfairly in their textual theories of the Greek New Testament. This book contains 125 direct quotations of Westcott and Hort from 1,291 pages as contained in five books by both men.

Foes of the King James Bible Refuted
This book is important because it answers various arguments set forth by foes of the King James Bible and its underlying Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek Texts. The arguments of the foes are not new. They have been around ever since the days of Bishop Brooke Foss Westcott and Professor Fenton John Anthony and their forerunners. Look at the principles discussed in this book, rather than at the personalities involved.

Fundamentalist Distortions on Bible Versions
Dr. Waite clearly outlines the mistakes seven fundamentalist schools are making in regard to 1. a false view of the doctrine of Bible preservation as found in the Bible, 2. their "ecumenical" and "pluralistic" approach to Bible versions. The Fundamental schools reproved and rebuked in this work reject the evidence for 356 doctrinal errors in the 'new' versions of the Bible and reject any one who uses ONLY the King James Bible.

The "Doctored" New Testament is a monumental work designed to help you discover and to understand in English the number and nature of the changes made by Westcott and Hort in the Greek New Testament. The changes Westcott and Hort made in the Greek New Testament wound up in the English Revised Version. And, for all practical purposes, most of those changes have been reproduced in the 'new' modern versions of the Bible all over the world. This work is advantagous to the student and scholar to quickly determine the changes for study, research, and teaching.

Fundamentalist Mis-Information on Bible Versions
This book is important because it is an answer to a book published by avowed Fundamentalists with the enthusiastic support of Bob Jones University. That book is called "From the Mind of God to the Mind of Man", written by graduates, faculty members, Trustee Board members, Cooperating Board members, and friends of Bob Jones University. Some of the extensive amount of Mis-Information contained in "The Mind Of Man" has been answered in other books Dr. Waite has written; but, it was coming from Neo-Evangelical and Liberal/Moderistic sources, whereas the present study exposes and refutes Mis-Information from those who call themselves Fundamentalists.

Westcott & Hort's Greek Text & Theory Refuted
This book presents Dean John William Burgon's comments dealing with the false and erroneous New Testament Greek text and theory promulgated by Westcott and Hort. They "invented" a 'new' Greek text in 1881 that is used by all modern Bible translators of 'new' versions of the Bible. He calls Westcott and Hort "two irresponsible scholars of the University of Cambridge."

Fundamentalist Deception on Bible Preservation
This book is important because it is an answer to a second book published by avowed Fundamentalists with the enthusiastic support of Bob Jones III, then President of Bob Jones University (BJU). Sadly, BJU deception on Bible preservation has had a pervasive influence on Bible institutes, colleges, universities, churches, and individuals both in the US and on many of the mission fields of the world. This book seeks to combate and correct the mis-information promulgated by BJU's influence.

Fuzzy Facts From Fundamentalists
This book embraces a response to the various Fundamental institutions that share a denial that God promised and has fulfilled His promise to preserve the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek Words which were originially given by verbal, plenary inspiration. The controversy was sparked by the publication of two books by Central Baptist Seminary, "The Bible Version Debate--The Perspective of Central Baptist Theological Seminary" and "One Bible Only?--Examining Exclusive Claims for the King James Bible." Both of these books attack the preservation of God's Words and Dr. Waite's book refutes their claim.

The Comparative Readability of the Authorized Version
People who complain about the King James Bible, often mention that they think it is not as easy to read as some of the modern versions. This book destroys the idea that the reading level of the King James Bible is difficult or grade 12 at least. One article claimed it was grade level 14, or in other words, you had to be a sophomore in college in order to understand it.

Gnosticism: The Doctrinal Foundation of the New Bible Versions
This 212-page book documents over 15 serious unBiblical heresies taught by key Gnostic leaders from all over the world. It will be seen from this study that the modern Bible versions like the ASV, ERV, RSV, NRSV, NEB, NASV, NIV, ESV, and many others, contain many of these same doctrinal heresies. These heresies are not by accident. They were purposely caused. The reason for this is that the headquarters of Gnosticism was Alexandria, Egypt. It is also true that the Vatican and Sinai N.T. Greek manuscripts, on which these new versions are based, originated in this same city-Alexandria, Egypt. It is clear that, when the Traditional Greek Words in the Gnostics' possession opposed their heresies, these apostate Gnostics doctored the N.T. Greek Words in order to conform them to these heresies. In actuality, Gnosticism-not some manuscript debate-is the doctrinal foundation of the Vatican and Sinai Greek N.T. manuscripts and hence the doctrinal foundation of the new Bible versions which are based upon them. This explains the title of this book: GNOSTICISM-The Doctrinal Foundation Of the New Bible Versions.

Bob Jones University's Errors on Bible Preservation
This book, Bob Jones University's Errors on Bible Preservation by Dr. D. A. Waite, Th.D., Ph.D. is in response to a book, "Bible Preservation and the Providence of God" by Samuel Schnaiter and Ron Tagliapietra who are associated with Bob Jones University (BJU) . Dr. Waite refutes their deceptions concerning true Bible Preservation. He clearly points out that the authors associated with BJU do not believe in preservation of the Words, but rather preservation of "ideas, thoughts, concepts, message, truth, or teachings." This is serious error. Furthermore, the BFU men declare the original words to be "reliable," but not inerrant. Dr. Waite addresses many other statements that are deceptive in his book.

The Superior Foundation of the King James Bible
The Background of This Booklet. The idea for this booklet came from my book, Defending The King James Bible. In this book, I point out four superiorities of the King James Bible: It has (1) superior texts, (2) superior translators, (3) superior translation technique, and (4) superior theology. I have simply taken point #1 and edited it for printing here.
The Need For This Booklet. One of the most important parts of the battle for the real Bible in our time is the answer to the question: Which Old Testament Hebrew and Aramaic Words and which New Testament Greek Words are we to use as the basis for all our translations? Since there are so many viewpoints on this, there is a drastic need to discuss the problem in detail.
The Purpose of This Booklet. In this booklet, I attempt to meet the need to talk about this matter and to give my reasons why I believe that the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek Words underlying the King James Bible are the only Words that should be used as the basis for Bible translations. Though it is a complex subject, I hope I might make it clear to the readers.
The Use of This Booklet. I will be using this booklet at two upcoming meetings. One meeting will be at an independent Baptist college. The other will be at a Bible conference in Mexico. I hope it will be used by hundreds and even thousands of God’s people who need answers to this vitally important problem.

Second Timothy The Apostle Paul’s Last Words
“I Have Fought A Good Fight.” As the Apostle Paul wrote his last letter before going Home to Glory, he summed up his autobiography in three short clauses. First, he said “I have fought a good fight.” He did not deny that his faithful service for his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, was a “fight.” But he hastened to add that his “fight” for the Saviour and His Words was a “good fight.” He did not cut corners. He did not lie. He did not play favorites. He did not cower before his many enemies.
“I Have Finished My Course.” Very few born-again Christians know when their “course” has come to an end. The Lord let Paul know that it was his time to go Home to Heaven. His “course” as a follower of His Saviour was rigorous. It entailed much suffering, pain, and sorrow. Paul did not compromise his service to comply with the morals and opinions of his day. His challenge from the Lord Jesus Christ upon his conversion was clear. He was to carry the Gospel of the grace of God to all who would listen. The Lord set before him his difficult “course.” Now, at the end of his life, Paul declared it to be “finished.”
“I Have Kept The Faith.” “The Faith” refers to the body of doctrine. It includes every Word found in the pages of the Old and New Testaments. Paul “kept these Words in two senses. He “kept” them by following these Words faithfully. He also “kept” them by guarding them and preserving them from all the many enemies of his day. The Gnostic-tainted New Testament manuscripts (Vatican & Sinai) altered the Words of “the faith” in at least 8,000 places. We must follow Paul in guarding the “received Words” of “the faith” in our day.
